Nationalpark Sehenswürdigkeit

The High Tauern is the highest mountain range in Austria. From among the legendary sea of peaks, all 3,798 metres of the Großglockner, the highest mountain of Austria, extends into the sky. In the Ködnitztal you can almost reach out and touch it. Right at the summit, you can easily see powerful ibex, marmots and golden eagles, and with a little fortune you can take photographs of them too.

The massive and mighty Großglockner is the main character in this impressive scenery though. You can get stuck into it from here. Going past the Lucknerlhütte and Stüdlhütte you can take the standard route via the Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte to the summit of the highest mountain in Austria, or alternatively you can reach it via the more challenging Stüdlgrad route.
