Climbing in Osttirol

Climbing between Grossglockner and the Dolomites

In total, 27 via ferrata, 8 climbing gardens, 5 family-friendly climbing parks and hundreds of alpine multiple rope routes are waiting for you to conquer them in Osttirol, with the best rock quality. Trained mountain and ski guides will help you and for the youngest ones there are special courses, as well as separate facilities for practicing.

Short access ways and tours of all difficulty levels from a starting base make climbing in Osttirol an experience both for the more advanced and those who would like to be. The possibilities for climbing are very wide in Osttirol and are constantly being developed further. The Lienz Dolomites, due to their wild rock formations also called the “ogres”, offer enjoyable climbing at an international top level with the area around the Dolomitenhütte and the alpine routes around Karlsbader Hütte.

Thanks to a training rockface and various climbing gardens, beginners can also enjoy the area all around Karlsbader Hütte. Competent information and advice are available free of charge from the local hosts.
