St. Jakob im Defereggental cable cars

Perfect starting point for hiking tours

Hiking in the valley Defereggental is quite a special experience. Amidst an impressive mountain world, you can really leave everyday life behind! In summer you can take the cable car and the chairlift to an altitude of over 2300 metres, where you will find an ideal starting point for many easy to medium difficulty hikes, up to mountain peaks of over 2900 metres.

At the Ochsenlacke by Mooseralm there is also a new trip destination for the whole family: the guardians of the mountain water treasures – 5 oversized items of play equipment. In addition, you will find a big viewing platform. It represents the ark in which the guardians of the mountain water treasures were stranded at the Ochsenlacke. The viewing platform offers a spectacular view of the Defereggen mountain world and a view of numerous three-thousand-metre peaks!
